Test Technician

The Test Technician carries out testing per customer specifications and evaluates plan to foresee any potential problems. Performs on-site and off-site installation and support of data acquisition systems

  • Ensures safe operation of test equipment by conducting emergency repairs and preventative maintenance on DC motors, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators plus a highspeed conveyor system following electrical diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications
  • Interfaces, repairs, implements electrical devices for motion control and data collection including, but not limited to: digital stepper motors, servo motors, both AC & DC motors and motor controllers
  • Installs instrumentation on test aircraft per customer Q.A. inspection requirements
  • Adheres to AC43.13 specifications, or customer-specific requirements
  • Monitors conditions during flight testing, when necessary
  • Assists customers with computer/software issues
  • Maintains calibrations of specialized test equipment
  • Maintains spare parts inventory for test equipment
  • Fabricates/assembles prototype test equipment including interfacing active devices to specialized computer software
  • Confers with engineering personnel to resolve problems relating to specifications and test plans
  • Coordinates and participates in installing unit or system to be tested in test fixtures, connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power source and indicating instruments
  • Monitors controls and instruments

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of BS, AS or AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology or five (5) years related experience
  • Military technical experience in avionics a plus
  • Aerospace avionics and MIL-SPEC wiring standards knowledge
  • Computer (PC) trouble-shooting and repair knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic control systems, automation with PC interface
  • Knowledge of analog sensor calibrations and PC interface
  • Strong test control and data acquisition software skills
  • Digital voltmeter, oscilloscope and bench soldering skills
  • Advanced skill in the use of computers with Windows-based operating environment
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to ensure that a high level of service and quality is maintained
  • Travel within U.S. and E.U. (~50%)

 


XP- Rotorcraft Experimental Test Pilot (part-time)

The XP will be in charge of evaluating customer test requirements and plans, as well as working with FAA to insure certification requirements are clear and concise. Occasional test support will be required.

  • Ensure safe execution of flight test programs
  • Review test requirements and plans, ensure there is a clear path to certification
  • Apply Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and related policies, standards and procedures to type certification.
  • Provide critical design review support
  • Provide off-site test support

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of BS, in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Test Pilot School Graduate
  • At least 5-years rotorcraft test experience
  • At least 200 hrs experimental flight test PIC
  • Experience must include basic stability, controllability, and performance testing to determine compliance with civil, military, or foreign standards.
  • Candidates must demonstrate possession of the knowledge and skills required for the work by meeting certain minimum flight hour requirements, including recency of flight experience. Only that flight experience that is directly related to the work of the position is required for purposes of establishing minimum eligibility.
  • Skill in flight testing rotorcraft with single piston engine, multiple piston engine, turboprop engines, and turbojet/turbofan engines as sole manipulator of the controls
  • Advanced skill in the use of computers with Windows-based operating environment
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to ensure that a high level of service and quality is maintained
  • Travel within U.S. and E.U. (~50%)
